How Not to Summon a Demon Lord (Episode 1) – The Demon Lord Act

Summoned to a fantasy world by two beautiful demi-humans, this shut-in gamer is going to have to battle dragons, beautiful girls, and social anxiety!

Takuma Sakamoto goes by the name Diablo in the MMORPG Cross Reverie. He’s a demon lord and possibly the strongest character in the game, so when he’s summoned to a fantasy world that resembles Cross Reverie he can’t believe his luck. Not to mention that he is now Diablo, complete with powers and magical items. Now, if he could just pluck up the courage to talk to the two girls that appeared to have summoned him!

Shera, a bubbly, bouncy elf greets him with a cheery smile, while Rem, a cautious catgirl is a little cooler. When they try to use a slave spell on Diablo it backfires and makes them his slave. Not knowing what to do with these two beautiful ladies, he goes with them to the nearby town. They find somewhere to stay for the night, but there is only one bed and three of them, leaving Diablo’s dreams and nightmares to all roll into one.

Episode Thoughts

I loved this episode, it has it all. We get introduced to all of the main characters and the depth of the main mission facing Diablo. We see just how powerful Diablo is, which makes this fun. One of my favorite things is seeing the reactions of people who think they’re amazing when really they’re not. On top of that, we have the delightful Shera and Rem to keep us company. Seriously, I think I’m going to get whiplash watching all that bouncing!
