Muneakira and the girls try to learn more about Juubei but to no avail. That is, until the master samurai awakens once again.
The Identity of the Master Samurai
It’s quickly found out that Juubei is a total amateur with a sword, despite having the mark of a master samurai. But Juubei’s training by Matabei is cut short when Sen sends both Sanada and Matabei out, without any other punishment.
Then, Sen (and Hanzou) move in with Muneakira and Juubei. We learn that Muneakira was called to the school in order to investigate the disappearance of several students. After this, Juubei has a bad dream and Muneakira comforts her – but this causes Sen to get jealous. Juubei kisses Muneakira, awakening her master samurai side, and proceeds to defeat Hanzou and Sen, before being lured away by Sanada and Matabei, who have returned.
Sanada’s trap doesn’t work, but Juubei doesn’t end up killing anyone. In the end, we learn that Muneakira is Juubei’s “general”, which is why he becomes covered in chains whenever she awakens.
There was some good fan service this episode. I was hoping to see some of Sen, and was glad to see just that. And more, of course.
As for the story, well, it’s clearly still just beginning, but it is seeming to get a little convoluted / strange. But I guess it was a little strange to begin with. Muneakira is Juubei’s general, but we don’t really know what that means yet, other than that he must be able to do something with such an honour.
Hopefully things get a bit straightened out. At the moment, the only real antagonistic character we’ve seen is Sen’s brother, Yoshihiko, who is apparently in France. Let’s get some cute girls on the antagonist’s side, too!
