For the thirty-fifth Waifu of the Week, I have chosen someone that I feel like is quite similar to myself. Obviously, she’s a girl, but otherwise, we’re practically the same person. Both strong and silent, both like girls…
I’ll admit that I was drawn to Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid for all the reasons you’d imagined. There was a clip from the hot pools that I haven’t gotten to yet in this rewatch and at that moment, I knew that I needed to see it. I mean seriously, the boobs in this show are unbelievable and in a good way. Anyhow, what I hadn’t planned on, however, was really enjoying myself. This series was a lot of fun and while it has it’s obvious charms, there is a really sweet story at its heart. One of the main aspects of that side of things was Mirei Shikishima.
It’s not hard to see why Mirei is an awesome character and undeniably worthy of a Waifu of the Week award. For one, she’s is beautiful. Two, she’s strong and will fight for what she believes in. She also uses a sword and is beautiful. Honestly, I can’t get enough of Mirei and it’s odd that she reminds me of myself. She’s almost like the girl version of D from Vampire Hunter D. Whatever, I don’t need to justify myself. All you need to do is look at the following images and I dare you to say she isn’t worth it!
See, you’ve got nothing. I know I go on about this a lot, but I am utterly helpless when faced with a strong girl with a sword. I have a couple more weaknesses and I’m pretty sure Mirei has them all covered too… Anyhow, if you’ve not seen Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, I would highly recommend it and not just as an ecchi fan. That said, if ecchi isn’t your thing you may struggle with the sheer amount of ecchi. This series has everything you could possibly want and more. Did I mention that Mirei is beautiful?
