Is there anything quite as attractive as confidence? What if that confidence resulted in a bit of malevolence? Sure, why not? I mean, just look at that smile. Who wouldn’t let her climb inside them… hang on… what?
So, I was a couple of minutes into the first episode of Gleipnir and the OP started. It has a pretty catchy tune and then this girl walked across the screen and the smile on her face said it all. This girl was going to be trouble and in a great way. Well, it didn’t take long for Clair to really come into the episode. At one point, she even kicked the protagonist off a roof. The most notable thing about Clair, however, is her range of smiles. She has one for every occasion and sometimes, she just looks downright crazy… in a good way… I hope!
Gleipnir has been an absolute blast so far and I can’t wait to get through the remaining episodes. It’s dark and tense, but also has Clair in it who is always pleasing on the eye and definitely pushes the story along. Without her, Shuuichi would probably just be hiding in his room.
This series had been high on my to-watch-list for last season and I’m a little disappointed that I waited until it had finished to watch it, although I can now push on as I see fit and not have to wait a whole week for my next fix of Clair. Like I said at the beginning of the post, Clair has confidence in spades and that is irresistible. I imagine you’ll always be wondering if she might turn on you, but it’s a risk that would be worth taking.
