We’ve only known Hibiki for five weeks now and she’s already got to be one of my favorite characters in the new seasonal shows. It helps that How Heavy Are The Dumbbells You Lift? just so happens to be my favorite show right now. Sure, there’s lots of fan-service, but it is full of motivational moments and it gives a real positive vibe which is something I think more people could benefit from.
When we first meet Hibiki, she’s having a crisis of confidence and is worried about her weight. Admittedly, she does eat pretty much continuously, but she is far from overweight. That said, it’s her body and if she wants to make some changes that will improve her overall health, it’s hard not to admire that. As Machio (the muscular trainer) says, why would I look down on someone that wants to make a positive change?
Hibiki is fun and bubbly. It’s hard not to get swept up in her day to day gym life. The show is also full of useful information about diet and training. Seriously, everything about this series is glowing with positivity and Hibiki is obviously at the centre of that.
I had absolutely, no doubt who would be my waifu of the week this time. Hibiki is awesome and I love the group of friends that have gathered around her. They give her strength and help to keep her going. Having a group of friends like that is one of the best ways to make those sort of changes to your life. As I said, there’s just so much positivity. I love this series. If you haven’t yet checked it out, you really should.
